The massive vehicle exhibition known as the 2026 Tokyo Auto Salon concluded on the 11th. In the tuning category, the biggest award was won by a Mazda RX-7 FD. This car was named “Secret 7.”
Tokyo Auto Salon, or TAS, is an exhibition that features a huge number of tuned cars. So why did this Secret 7 car become so special?

Here’s the story.
In Thailand, there’s an extremely wealthy young man named Piyalert “Beer” Baiyoke. On Instagram, he goes by @beerbaiyoke. This guy has an insane passion for cars—and the money to match it. The Baiyoke family is one of the wealthiest families in Thailand. So, after searching and searching, he sets his sights on a legendary beehive of automotive madness: Top Secret, the iconic Japanese brand founded by Kazuhiko Nagata, better known as Smokey Nagata.

This young man teams up with Smokey to further develop the Top Secret brand—not in terms of engineering, but by expanding its popularity through apparel and various types of merchandise. Along with that, they also open a Top Secret branch in Thailand.
For anyone who doesn’t know Smokey Nagata, think of him like this: he’s a car-obsessed madman who builds cars capable of extreme speeds—and then actually drives them at those speeds. Once, he built a Toyota Supra, took it to England, and drove it at around 320 km/h on a public road, which landed him in jail. That incident, however, made him even more famous. Because he’s almost always seen with a cigarette in his mouth, people affectionately call him Smokey Nagata. Later, he started his own garage, which he named Top Secret—the very brand I mentioned earlier.
Alright, back to our main topic: the Mazda RX-7 FD.
Generally, for different cars, there are different specialists. Even in our own countries, there are mechanics who specialize in specific models. When it comes to the Mazda RX-7, the most famous name in the world is Amemiya-san, also known as RE Amemiya—where RE stands for Rotary Engine. An RX-7 built by Amemiya is, without question, something truly special.

So, going back again—this Baiyoke guy already owns an insane collection of Top Secret cars. He has a Supra, GT-R, Silvia, and more. But he doesn’t have an RX-7. So he asks Nagata-san to build one. However, since the RX-7 is Amemiya-san’s specialty, Nagata refuses to do it.
As a solution, this guy does something unbelievable—he brings these two legendary master mechanics together. Before this, neither Nagata-san nor Amemiya-san had ever collaborated with anyone to build a car. But now, together, they build a Mazda RX-7 FD.
The car is released at Tokyo Auto Salon, finished in Top Secret’s iconic gold color, with an absolutely mind-blowing livery. At the moment, I don’t really have exact details about the full specs, but it runs a 3-rotor rotary engine, capable of revving up to 9000 RPM—that’s 9,000 revolutions per minute. It also has a custom wide body kit made specifically for this car. The car is nearly 2 meters wide. It’s a one-of-a-kind build in the entire world.
I feel like we’ll see more collaborations like this in the future. If that happens, I’ll let you know.
Victory be with you.
